Dear GOD,
It has come to my attention that more and more of those that were once contended of the faith have left a strayed. It would be easy for me to judge their actions but to be honest it makes me examine myself even the more, to see if I am of the faith that was entrusted unto me [Jude 1:3]. No I am not in that place of the promise, yet, that I saw myself so long ago when You shared the plans you had for me [Jeremiah 29:11], plans that would give me an expected end. But I tell you what, I refuse to compromise the gospel that I have been given stewardship over, for it is the will of GOD concerning us and it is the very power of GOD unto salvation for everyone that believes [Romans 1:16] .
Why would I want to short change something that can set someone free, deliver them from bondage and sin, give them beauty from ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness [Isaiah 61:3]. And most of all giving all man the ability to have a personal relationship with You Master, My King, My LORD [Matthew 11:28]?
I tell you the truth and shame the devil by making a public display of his schemes and devices that some have/are falling for. It is not because I did not or do not have what I need to “create” an illusion of the blessing. The opportunities ARE THRE, the people to make it happen ARE THERE. The notoriety IS THERE! But it all comes if I will bow down to sin, You know, if I will *just* allow a little leaven in, but You have taught me through Your word just a little compromise spoils the whole lump [Galatians 5:9].
So I as I pray fully watch others as they add leaven to their recipe of life, I sit and I wait patiently [James 1:4] for my promotion to come from You [Psalm 75:6], because when You promote You make rich and add not sorrows to it [Proverbs 10:22].
And because I refuse to reason with sin, and there was no compromise, that meant I had to endure good days that was mostly bad days, poverty and pain, rejection and disgrace, hardships and being dismayed, but through it all You showed me how to be content in having all things [Philippians 4:11], because through that dry season You were with me. And even though I was poor, having You made me rich, even though I was weak with You I was strong [Joel 3;10], my burden may have seemed heavy, having You carry them with me made them lighter [Matthew 11:29]. Even though I went through the valley of the shadow of death I feared no evil because I felt You there with me, Your rod and staff through chastisement and wisdom empowered me [Psalm 23:4] and help me to stand up against my enemies that tried to over take me [Psalm 31:15, 143:9, Job 6:23].
At the end of the day, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ! [Romans 8:39]
I think it would be feasible to end it with a quote that was said to have been written by a young pastor in Zimbabwe. After he was martyred for his faith in Christ:
“I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I must go until Heaven returns, give until I drop, preach until all know, and work until He comes. And when He comes to get His own, He will have no problem recognizing me. My colors will be clear. I am not ashamed of the gospel . . . Romans 1:16”
Timothy 6:10 says it best, For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Sincerely, NO! I Will Not Bow Down To Sin. . .So Help Me GOD!
