Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain. Deuteronomy 25:4 (NIV)

As I was reflecting on how God has move me into new dimensions in Him I was discussing with the Holy Spirit of God why we do as He says out of will and obedience and we are muzzled or someone comes behind us and water down what was meant to sting.
God took me back to "Freedom River" you see freedom river was a old cartoon I purchase for about a buck at Wal-mart for my toddler. This DVD had many historical cartoons on it but this one particular Chapter drew my attention. I will expound as I go through this story to give you the hands on what was revealed to me.
The story was about a river that brought freedom and this river spreaded to places where currents of rivers were weak and dying. (the lost) They begin to long to come to this river. (salvation)
However, they did not know the power of freedom (salvation) is GREAT!!!
Matthew 10:34-39 (New International Version)
...38and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
They began to taste the waters of freedom (salvation) and were refresh (this can represent after salvation tasting the goodness of the Lord.) As long as this river flowed their was hope and abundance, however, if this river cease to flow it will decay and die.
The land begin to prosper and after so long the people got CONTENT! (Lax in the things of God) Pride grew. (That is when you start hearing my, my, my., it turns to my ministry, my congregation, my stuff) This pride grew so much it blinded the people and they became arrogant and foolish. (Nobody can tell them anything at this point when sin gives birth) They begin to covet after the river. (This is the person that gorges the word of God and never shares it with those that is lost, they are spiritually gluttoners.)
Strangers were not deserving in their eyes and they ridicule the people that had new ideas. (They become critical and ungrateful) They begin to take more then there share (given to filthy lucre/dishonest gain) and not helping others, instead they despised and chastise them (Forget where God has brought them from and begin to look down on others), The water begin to get cloudy and they could see not because pride blinded their eyes. (My way or no way/Haughty spirit!!!)
Until a wise man notice the waters were cloudy, he try to tell them but they did not hear him. He tried again and they shut him up for his vision infuriated them. Hear is where the spirit of God revealed to me that this is why when the spirit of God uses me to counteract/diffuse the devils devises, he uses people with influence to water it down to accommodate "their plan". So to speak I got in their business, they do not want accountability...
The story goes on they loved the stream even though the river grew weaker and weaker. (They have got comfortable with their sin) Hope was dying and energy wavered. (Double-minded man, I call this place where you start finding was to pervert the word of God to justify or avoid judgment) Until they final came to reality and finally their eyes were opened, which caused them to become confused. (To me this represents the war in the spirit between the Spirit of God and the spirits of the enemy, who are by the way possessive) In this story they eventually got connect back what it took or what work to substance this river to flow.
Moral of this story was: TO MUCH FREEDOM CAN CAUSE DISORDER!!!
What was revealed to me watching this childhood cartoon is this, it is reminded me of:
Nehemiah 9:25-27 (New International Version)
25 They captured fortified cities and fertile land; they took possession of houses filled with all kinds of good things, wells already dug, vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees in abundance. They ate to the full and were well-nourished; they reveled in your great goodness. 26 "But they were disobedient and rebelled against you; they put your law behind their backs. They killed your prophets, who had admonished them in order to turn them back to you; they committed awful blasphemies. 27 So you handed them over to their enemies, who oppressed them. But when they were oppressed they cried out to you. From heaven you heard them, and in your great compassion you gave them deliverers, who rescued them from the hand of their enemies.
Most time we fall short of the glory of God because we get too comfortable with Him. God is eternity and like my old pastor says: "it will take all of eternity to know Him". So how much more in this earthly suit do we need to stay in tuned on a daily or regular basis to the hem of God and the mouth of the one that is sent.
Just as the wise man that was vulnerable enough to see. We need to be vulnerable enough to allow the Spirit of God to bring correction to "His" people through us no matter what the consequences shall be. And continually to diffuse the devils devise through the Gospel of Christ even when others that have compromised, lost or fell from the faith tries to muzzle the ox (prophet) that is treads out the grain (Word of God)...
Love you to life;
Prophetess L.M. Elias
